The SURREY 2016 Organizing Committee is proud to welcome the world's best fastpitch athletes, representing upwards of 30 nations, to Surrey, Canada for the ISF XV Women's World Softball Championship.
SURREY 2016 is committed to producing a World Championship experience that is unparalleled for athletes, sport officials, and fans. The myriad of cultures, micro-cultures, languages, and people that make Surrey the great city it is have come together to show support for the event. Africa (2): Kenya, Uganda
Americas (10): Brazil, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Peru, United States, Venezuela, and host Canada
Asia (6): China, Chinese Taipei, India, Japan, Pakistan, Philippines
Europe (11): Austria, Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Serbia, Switzerland
Oceania (2): Australia, New Zealand
The event will bring together top softball athletes from around the world with 11 countries making their debut including Brazil, Ecuador, India, Ireland, Israel, Kenya, Pakistan, Peru, Serbia, Switzerland, and Uganda. With Japan reigning as the two-time defending world champions, find out who will claim the title this summer.
SURREY 2016 is an organizing committee dedicated to the advocacy and development of the sport of fastpitch. They help in providing opportunities for female athletes to be rewarded with university and college scholarships and to expand their athletic and personal potential.
With 31 teams, this will be one of the largest single sport event held in Canadian history!
