FINA ARTISTIC SWIMMING WORLD SERIES EVENT COMING TO SURREY, BC, IN 2018
World class senior level artistic swimmers will join the best novice athletes in Canada next June in Surrey, BC. One of ten stops on the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series, the Synchro Canada Open will be held in conjunction with the 2018 Canadian Espoir Synchronized Swimming Championships, May 30 to June 2, 2018 at the Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre pool.
The 2018 Synchro Canada Open will be the seventh stop on the FINA-sanctioned competition circuit that is in its second year. It has expanded to include ten countries in the series, from the original seven who held events in 2017. Canada joins China, France, Greece, Hungary, Japan, Slovakia, Spain, USA, and Uzbekistan as host countries.
The 2018 Canadian Espoir Synchronized Swimming Championships run from May 29 to June 3, 2018. More than 325 athletes and over 100 coaches and officials will converge on the city for the five-day event. The athletes will range in age from 11 to 15 and will come from across Canada to take part. The FINA World Series event will bring an additional 60+ participants to Surrey from many corners of the world.
